Heavy, Medium and Light Duty Fully Automatic Roll Grinders: for superb performance in terms of tolerances and surface finishing, high reliability and internationally patented measuring and control devices.
Revamping of existing Roll Grinders: revamping of existing roll grinders manufactured by Farrel, Giustina, and Pomini, as well as by other roll grinder manufacturers.
Fully Automatic Roll Loaders: The Roll Loaders are lifting devices controlled by means of a CNC which purpose is to handle the rolls within a fenced area, containing one or more roll grinders, called Automatic Roll Shop. The handling schedule can be defined in either manual or automatic way by the Roll Grinders Operators or by the Rolling Mill Control System.
Chocking/de-chocking Machines: The Chocking-Dechocking Machines are devices used for removing the chocks on both sides of the rolls. This operation is essential in order to allow the maintenance of the chocks and the bearings and, as in the CRM applications, it is parts of the grinding cycle, being the rolls ground without chocks.
Automatic Patented Roll Lifting Beams: Special lifting devices tailored around the customer requirements: for single work rolls with or without chocks mounted on. They are provided with chocks stabilizers and chocks tilters on board, as well as servo-controlled counterwights for load balancing in both longitudinal and tranversal directions. The rolls lifting beams are driven via radio-control and the control can include also the overhead crane.
Roll Transfer Cars: For handling all the types of rolls, with or without chocks mounted on, from the mill bay to the roll shop. Heavy-duty design according to the most important lifting devices regulations (FEM, DIN, NEN…). They are customized according to Customer special requirements
Ancillary Equipment for Roll Shop: The proper functioning of a Roll Shop requires a set of devices which are often defined as “Ancillary Equipment”. The amount of items included in this set depends on the type of Roll Shop, its size and other parameters but, in most cases, it includes the chocks tilter, the lifting beams, the cleaning and preserving tanks; the cooling down system and the cleaning cabin station.
Roll Defect Management System :This system automatically classifies roll defects into thermal or mechanical based on eddy current and ultrasound inspection then determines how to process the rolls for safe use in the Mill. It is a software implementation of the Roll Defect Management Process patented by ArcelorMittal Dofasco.
Roll Shop Management System: Software system integrating grinding result data with mill production data and providing multiple metrics and statistics indicating roll, chock, bearing and wheel performance. This system helps management and purchasing department to evaluate suppliers and optimize the Roll Shop and Mill production process.
Data Communication with Upper Level Mill Systems: The Pomini computer network in the Roll Shop can be connected to the upper level Mill system in the customer’s plant to exchange grinding and production data, thus sharing all the information necessary to evaluate and optimize the production process
Eddy Current and Ultrasound Inspection Systems : The Pomini Inspektor P&P system is a NDT roll inspection system using eddy current and ultrasound technology to measure surface and subsurface defects on rolls to ensure product quality and safety in the mill.
